CONTEST TIME!!!!!

Okay everyone – I said I would post about a contest for Mother’s Day – so here it is! If you are a mom then step right up!  I would like to give a free session (GOTTA HAVE IT PACKAGE – $500 value) to a deserving mom and her kids.
This doesn’t necessarily mean you would never be able to afford photos or would never go and get them on your own but instead it means that you feel that you would love to treat yourself to beautiful portraits of you and your children.
As moms we are frequently shy about getting infront of the camera however it is EXTREMELY important that you have photos of you and your children together as it helps to shape a child’s feelings of self worth.

So here is what you need to do. You can get entries into the draw in multiple ways.

1. Enter your name into the contest by commenting on this post that you wish to be entered.

2. Hop over to my facebook page and comment on the contest post that you wish to be entered.

3. Share the facebook post with your friends and family.  If they comment either there or on the blog with “_________” sent me you will get one extra entry for each person that does this.

I will close the contest on April 30th and do the draw shortly after.

If I get enough participants then I might even draw for runner up prizes!

Well its just another MACRO Monday!!! I LOVE messing around with my macro lens.  If I am in a bad mood or am feeling blah for any reason I just need to whip out the macro lens and go on the hunt for some flowers or bugs or interesting teeny tiny things.  A few weeks ago I spent no more than 5 minutes after the Sparks Spree (Girl Guide Fun Day) snapping pics of some cool flowers around Campbell Valley Park.  I finally got a chance to edit them and decided to run them through a haze process. It gives them a nice warm and calm effect I think. Don’t miss the little ANT on the very last flower!

So now that this lovely couple has officially tied the knot I am free to post the pictures they had be do as presents a few weeks ago.  H and P got married yesterday in the Okanagan in a very small ceremony. They contacted me about a month ago and wanted to get some engagement photos done to be able to give out to people as gifts at the wedding!  I was happy to oblige and we headed out to the walking trails that run beside Burns Bog where we were able to get some fantastic portraits of the two of them!

I hope your ceremony was beautiful and that you were able to surprise everyone with your lovely photos!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Every single day or often multiple times I day I drive by fields.  Many of these fields are empty.  Many have some sort of farm or construction equipment in them.  But often these fields have horses in them.  One field in particular at the end of our road frequently has horses out in the pasture and without fail Mollie will ALWAYS ask if we can knock on the owners doors and see if we can ride them!  A few weeks ago I drove by the horse field after work and the lighting WAS GORGEOUS!  I went home and got my camera it was so gorgeous.  These are just two of the pics I took.

I am in awe that I live in such a beautiful place.  See we moved to Maple Ridge almost a year ago and I am still not quite used to the rural-ness of the area.  It probably should be mentioned that I live WAY WAY out in Maple Ridge.  In forest and farms.  I am not in the city AT ALL! We moved from Surrey – within walking distance to the Guildford Mall.  I grew up in Guildford and had been there for 30 years but it was time for a change so a big change it was! Go big or go home right???  Well I am VERY happy we live in the “country” now.  As Mollie said after we moved, “Mommy before we used to live in the city but now we live where we can hear the birds and see the stars”.  Nothing like hearing words like those to melt your heart and know you made a good choice.

I have posted about canvases before but since I had the recent canvas contest I thought I would post again!  Canvases are a WONDERFUL way for you to have truly beautiful artwork in your home at a fraction of the cost of framed paintings – not to mention WAY prettier since it most often showcases your own family!  I have a number of canvases on the walls of my house and people ALWAYS comment and admire them.  Canvases come in virtually ANY size you wish and look even better when they are grouped in bunches.  Recently I have noticed all sorts of consumer companies starting to sell canvases.  PLEASE USE CAUTION when purchasing canvas prints from places such as Costco or Walmart – the quality is just not that great.  The backs of the canvases are not finished and the edges are often not even fully wrapped around instead only stapled along the sides of the canvas then covered over with what appears to be black canvas-like tape!!!  I use a wonderful company who takes the utmost of care in producing a truly heirloom product.  Every canvas is finished off with hangers and perfect corners.  There is a UV coating on the front so that the light will not fade your print and the weave of the canvas is tight enough that you will only see a slight texture.   Here are some photos of the most recent canvases purchased by clients.

I had the pleasure of meeting little Miss {M} a few weeks ago. I knew she was going to be a cutie as I had done her big brother’s newborn photos almost 2 years ago now. Miss M did not disappoint and was just precious! She was awake for a little while but finally gave in to sleep and I got some fabulous sleeping photos of her!

This mommy is absolutely gorgeous!  She is getting ready to have her second little one and I can’t wait to meet him or her!  We decided to do outdoor portraits at the Heritage Train Station in Fort Langley and it was a great location for her little one to run and have a little bit of freedom while still having some neat backgrounds.  There was even a few trains that went by to entertain her!  So on with the photos – there are so many good ones!
