I was looking through all of the sessions I had last fall and came across this fall session with S & R.  We lucked out on the weather for their maternity session at the little park close to my studio in Langley.  It was a GORGEOUS sunny and crisp morning!  The fall leaves were out and yet it was still sunny and not too cold.  We did a couple of outfit changes and moved around the park for several different set ups.  It truly was a relaxed and calm shoot.  I have since done their little man’s newborn photos and will hopefully see them again soon for updated pictures of him!  Now on to the images!

CONTEST TIME!!!!!

Okay everyone – I said I would post about a contest for Mother’s Day – so here it is! If you are a mom then step right up!  I would like to give a free session (GOTTA HAVE IT PACKAGE – $500 value) to a deserving mom and her kids.
This doesn’t necessarily mean you would never be able to afford photos or would never go and get them on your own but instead it means that you feel that you would love to treat yourself to beautiful portraits of you and your children.
As moms we are frequently shy about getting infront of the camera however it is EXTREMELY important that you have photos of you and your children together as it helps to shape a child’s feelings of self worth.

So here is what you need to do. You can get entries into the draw in multiple ways.

1. Enter your name into the contest by commenting on this post that you wish to be entered.

2. Hop over to my facebook page and comment on the contest post that you wish to be entered.

3. Share the facebook post with your friends and family.  If they comment either there or on the blog with “_________” sent me you will get one extra entry for each person that does this.

I will close the contest on April 30th and do the draw shortly after.

If I get enough participants then I might even draw for runner up prizes!

So as the year comes to a close I have been seeing many fellow photographers post summaries of the sessions they have done throughout the year.  I decided to go back and count the number of newborns I have photographed and was surprised to see it was a whopping 34!!!!  I have been so blessed to have these little babies come into my studios in Langley.  I hope you enjoy these collages as much as I do!

Its this family’s first time all together on my blog! The two littlest boys – twins R and R came for newborn photos and I was super excited to get to photograph them and their older brothers together!  We decided to have the session at the Historic Stewart Farmhouse as its a lovely background for family portraits in the South Surrey area.  They have a lovely old apple orchard, the original homestead and several old barns and out buildings.  The boys did SOOOO well especially considering how chilly it was!

I have been super busy with life the last few weeks and have only just had some time to post on the blog again! This special family has been with me right from the start of my business – they are actually the very FIRST session I ever did!  Larissa has her own successful business decorating and doing flowers for weddings and it was because of her encouragement that I go into business at the start!  She wanted some true winter photos of her family up at their cabin however we couldn’t seem to coordinate our schedules so we booked to get together by my house in Maple Ridge instead.  Well the weather gods were on her side because it snowed and she got her winter family photos after all!!!

I met up with this good looking group in the summer but hadn’t yet had a chance to blog their photos.  We met at the newer Pitt Meadows development of Osprey Village which is right along the Fraser River.  The views were gorgeous! It was very picturesque and we even caught sight of a black bear although I didn’t get any photos of him!  We did however get some gorgeous pics with the Golden Ears Bridge in the background!  If you live in the area and have a free afternoon the path along the river is a great one!

The mom in this lovely family is also the owner of the fabulous boutique lingerie store in Maple Ridge. Babydoll boutique has one of the LARGEST selections of stylish and sexy nursing bras in all the Lower Mainland!! If you are in need of a nursing bra or a regular bra go and check out her store as I know you will not be disappointed!

She is also the lucky wife to a great guy and a mom to three GORGEOUS kids!  We got together at Kanaka Creek Park down the road from me and were able to capture some great shots!

The black and whites in this session are slightly moodier than what I normally use in my newborn work but I think they rock for these images! They are all processed with Olive Juice Lightroom Presets

If you are a photographer and want some GREAT presets and actions absolutely check these out!
